Americans Support Sanctions Against Russia's Trading Partners

  • 62% of Americans support sanctions against Russia's trading partners.
  • 76% of Republicans and 58% of Democrats support the sanctions.
  • Trump initiated additional sanctions on the import of Russian oil.

This is reported by RBC Ukraine, Ukrayinska Pravda.

According to a new survey by Reuters/Ipsos, 62% of Americans support the introduction of sanctions against countries that trade with Russia, to force Moscow to stop its war against Ukraine.

Survey Results

Among respondents, 76% of Republican respondents support the sanctions, while among Democrats this figure stands at 58%. The survey was conducted among 1,022 adult Americans, with a margin of error of 3%.

President Donald Trump has partially implemented this strategy, initiating additional sanctions on Indian goods while continuing to purchase Russian oil, which is a primary source of funding for the war.

Pressure on Moscow's Partners

Trump also threatened sanctions against China, Turkey, the UAE, and other countries that cooperate with Moscow. He aims to increase pressure on the Kremlin, so that it agrees to cease fire.

Diplomatic Efforts

In recent weeks, Trump has actively engaged in diplomatic negotiations, including a meeting with Vladimir Putin in alliance, but so far has not achieved success in stopping the war, despite promises to resolve this issue on the first day of his presidency.
