  • Asian markets are demonstrating mixed dynamics after record highs in the USA.
  • Europe is consolidating after the agreement on tariffs between the USA and the EU.
  • Markets in Japan are under pressure from uncertainty regarding investments.

Asian stock markets are demonstrating mixed results on Monday after U.S. stocks rose to new records. On Friday, the S&P 500 index increased by 0.4% to 6,388.64, setting a new record. The Dow Jones also rose by 0.5%, closing at 44,901.92, while the Nasdaq added 0.2%, finishing trading at 21,108.32.

After the announcement of the agreement between the USA and the European Union, which provides for a 15% tariff on goods from the EU, Europe is consolidating. The agreement, reached between U.S. President Donald Trump and the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, allowed for the elimination of significant tariffs that could harm the economies of both sides.

The agreement was reached during a meeting in Scotland, where Trump stated that the EU plans to invest nearly $600 billion in the USA. Meanwhile, in Stockholm, negotiations will take place between the USA and China, the aim of which is to extend the trade truce and prevent rising tariffs.

On the Japanese stock market, the Nikkei 225 index fell by 1% to 41,056.81 due to uncertainty regarding the investment agreement between Japan and the USA. At the same time, shares of CK Hutchison in Hong Kong fell by 0.6% due to the possibility of attracting a Chinese investor to the consortium of buyers of the Panama Canal.

In addition, the Federal Reserve System of the USA plans to discuss interest rates. Investors are seeking clarity regarding the future actions of the central banks of the USA and Japan.
