Starmer Calls Cabinet Meeting to Discuss Gaza Crisis
- Starmer calls an emergency cabinet meeting regarding the crisis in Gaza.
- The Prime Minister plans to invite Trump to revive peace talks.
- The government of Great Britain is planning an airlift of humanitarian aid.
Prime Minister of Great Britain Keir Starmer is convening an emergency cabinet meeting this week to discuss the crisis in Gaza and is calling on US President Donald Trump to take more decisive steps regarding Israel.
The meeting will take place against the backdrop of increasing global humanitarian concerns in the region. Ministers, who are on recess until November 1, will return for the meeting to discuss the situation in the Middle East.
Starmer intends to discuss with Trump the revival of peace talks regarding the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, especially since negotiations in Qatar have stalled following the withdrawal of US and Israeli teams from talks.
The meeting will be held in Scotland, including at Trump's golf resort, where Starmer will call for a temporary halt to peace talks, as well as an increase in humanitarian aid for those affected in Gaza.
Meanwhile, the government of Great Britain is planning an airlift of aid to Gaza and the evacuation of children who need medical assistance. British Minister for Business Jonathan Reynolds stressed that the delivery of aid cannot wait, and called for a temporary expansion of access to humanitarian aid.
