This was reported by Sky Sports, L'Équipe.

Luke Littler secured his first title at the Betfred World Matchplay, defeating James Wade with a score of 18-13 in the final, which took place in Blackpool. This victory allowed the 18-year-old player to complete the "Triple Crown", having already won the World Championship in January and the Premier League in April.

Littler showed an average result of 107.24 and set a record for the number of 180s, hitting 17 during the final. Although he started the game with a deficit of 0-5, he managed to win nine out of the next eleven legs. He closed the match in style with a finish of 115, which became his only finish with a result over 100 in this game.

Wade, who was champion in 2007, started strong but Littler quickly returned to the game, winning three legs in succession. After a brief setback, he moved ahead again, and then won the match, despite Wade also showing impressive play.

Historic Moment for Littler

The victory allowed Littler to become the youngest winner in the history of this tournament, and he also became the fifth player to complete the Triple Crown, joining legends like Phil Taylor and Michael van Gerwen.

Littler shared his emotions: "This means absolutely everything to me. My idol, Phil Taylor, won this tournament 16 times. Now my name is on the list of champions, and I can say that I have completed the Triple Crown."
