Formula 1 heads to Budapest for the Hungarian Grand Prix, which will be the last event before the summer break. This stage will take place on September 3, 2025, and the teams aim to improve their results after recent setbacks.
The Mercedes team, in particular, is holding a "big meeting" to analyze their recent failures. Driver George Russell noted that the team has faced difficulties in recent races, despite starting the season with four podiums. After three "failures" in a row, the team is hoping to find solutions to improve the car's speed on Hungarian tracks.
At the recent Belgian Grand Prix, Russell finished fifth but fell behind the leaders, which raised concerns about the car's performance. He stated that the team needs to revert to previous setups that worked better at the start of the season.
Meanwhile, Max Verstappen from the Red Bull team did not activate his extension clause in the contract, finishing the race on Thursday, but remains third in the overall championship standings. This means that if Mercedes decides to sign Verstappen, they will need to buy out his contract, which could shorten the ongoing discussions about Russell's contract extension.
At the Hungarian Grand Prix, it is expected that the weather will be mostly sunny, with temperatures reaching up to 27°C, but there may be rain on Sunday, which could impact the race.
