More than 16 million people in Great Britain witnessed England's victory in the Euro 2025 final, which took place on July 28, 2025. This number is only three times smaller than the 17.4 million viewers who watched the final in 2022.
According to data from BBC, the peak viewership on their platforms reached 12.2 million during the match against the Spanish world champions. ITV recorded 4.2 million viewers. The average number of viewers during the match was 12 million across both platforms.
The final was simultaneously broadcast on ITV, which contributed to the distribution of viewership. ITV captured 25% of the audience who watched the final on television. The highest ratings for ITV in 2025 were during the semi-final match of England against Italy, where viewership reached 10.2 million.
Overall, the number of viewers increased compared to the previous tournament. BBC reported about 1.1 million listeners who tuned in through BBC Sounds, which is 122% more than in 2022. More than 10.1 million users accessed tournament content through BBC's digital services, which is an increase of 15%.
BBC's social media also secured 231 million views throughout the tournament, of which over 100 million were from TikTok.
The final in Switzerland ended in a series of penalties after a 1-1 draw. England conceded the first goal but managed to equalize, and then won in the shootout thanks to a decisive strike from Chloe Kelly.
