On Saturday, July 28, 2025, following the arrival of Delta Flight 2809 in San Francisco, federal agents arrested one of the pilots. The arrest occurred at 9:35 PM local time.
The pilot was arrested on allegations related to materials of sexual abuse involving children. Law enforcement, including agents from the Department of Homeland Security, boarded the aircraft to ensure the passengers could disembark safely.
Witnesses report that nearly ten officers in uniform detained the pilot and escorted him off the aircraft. One passenger described the situation as "shocking and disturbing." Another passenger stated that she was left in tears after the incident.
The Department of Homeland Security confirmed that the arrest pertains to materials of sexual abuse involving children. Delta Air Lines has not yet commented on the situation, referring inquiries to the authorities.
