Gamers are protesting against Visa and other payment systems due to the blocking of a game on the platforms Steam and Itch.io. Following the removal of the game by Steam and Itch.io at the request of payment systems, including at the behest of the Australian group Collective Shout, gamers started a mass campaign.
The group has reached out to payment providers, demanding to stop the blocking of platforms that host content for adults. This led to Itch.io removing all NSFW games to avoid payment blocks.
Gamers have begun sending letters to Visa, stating that they are ready to withdraw from the company's services if it continues to interfere with the operation of gaming platforms. They consider this an attempt to censor legal content.
In response to the protest, Visa stated that it does not support illegal activities, but also seeks to protect legal trade. However, gamers expressed their dissatisfaction, believing that the company is trying to control the content of games, which in turn allows payments on gambling sites.
The protest campaign, which includes a petition, has gained popularity, and on Change.org, over 147 thousand signatures have already been collected in support of gamers' rights.
