The victory took place on July 28, 2025, when Wallace overcame numerous challenges, including a rain delay and two overtime sessions. He finished with a margin of 0.222 seconds over defending champion Kyle Larson. This was his third win in NASCAR's career, which also marked the end of a 100-race winless streak.

Wallace drove the No. 23 Toyota Camry for the 23XI Racing team, co-owned by Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin, while also pursuing a lawsuit against NASCAR over alleged violations of anti-discrimination laws. After the victory, he expressed satisfaction, underscoring the importance of this achievement for the team.
