Svitlana Zalishchuk Appointed Ukraine's Ambassador to Sweden

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed Svitlana Zalishchuk as the new ambassador of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Sweden. The corresponding decree under number 556/2025 was published on the president's website.
Svitlana Zalishchuk is a Ukrainian journalist and a former member of parliament, elected to the Verkhovna Rada in 2014 from the Petro Poroshenko Bloc. Before entering politics, she worked as a journalist on Channel 5, and also held positions in the press services of the Cabinet of Ministers and the Presidential Administration. Zalishchuk was one of the coordinators of the civic organization Center UA and participated in initiatives that promoted reforms and civic control.
In parliament, Zalishchuk chaired the subcommittee on European integration and was part of the Ukrainian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. She also participated in international conferences and forums dedicated to democracy, reforms, and human rights.
Notably, on July 21, the president signed decrees on the appointment of ambassadors to 16 countries. Simultaneously, he dismissed Andriy Plakhotniuk from the position of ambassador of Ukraine to Sweden.
