A tragedy occurred in Alabama when 3-year-old Ketterius Sparks died after being left in a hot vehicle. The incident took place on July 22, 2025, in Birmingham, where the child had been under the supervision of a contractor from the Department of Human Resources of the state.
According to police information, Ketterius had been picked up from a daycare for a scheduled drop-off to the parent. After the drop-off, instead of returning the child to the daycare, the driver forgot the toddler in the vehicle. Police received a call at 5:30 PM, when the toddler was found in the car, but unfortunately, he was no longer breathing.
During the investigation, it became known that the outside temperature that day exceeded 30 degrees Celsius. Police reported that the contract worker, who was responsible for the toddler, has been interviewed and is actively cooperating with the investigation. It is known that the worker has already been fired, however, details of the incident remain confidential due to privacy concerns.
The investigation continues, and further decisions regarding possible criminal charges will be made by the prosecutor's office.
