Sony has announced new details about its wireless joystick for PlayStation, previously known under the code name Project Defiant. The joystick is now called FlexStrike and features mechanical buttons, an accumulator, and the ability to connect to the PS5 via the USB adapter PlayStation Link.
FlexStrike supports connections to both PS5 and PC, making it a universal tool for gamers. It also ensures "ultra-low latency" thanks to PlayStation Link technology, which is crucial for players who require precision. The adapter is compatible with USB-C.
The joystick has a unique base that absorbs its movement during gameplay, and it can also house all control elements, similar to the DualSense controller, including a sensory panel. Gamers can also connect two FlexStrike joysticks simultaneously or use one with the wireless headphones Pulse Elite or Pulse Explore.
The release date is planned for 2026, with the exact price yet to be announced. The joystick will also be showcased at Evo 2025 in Las Vegas.
