- Negotiations between Inter and Atalanta regarding Lookman are intensifying.
- Marotta confirmed the club's readiness to finalize the agreement in the coming days.
- Atalanta is forced to seek new solutions after losing key players.
This is reported by L'Équipe, La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Inter Milan plans to finalize negotiations with Atalanta regarding the transfer of striker Ademola Lookman within the next couple of days. The club president, Beppe Marotta, confirmed that the player and his new club have reached a previous agreement for five years. The problem lies in the transfer fee, which stands at 50 million euros.
Marotta, during a press conference, stated that if certain conditions are met, Inter is ready to continue negotiations until completion. If the agreement is not reached, the club will explore other options. Lookman, who already has a contract with Inter for 4.5 million euros per year, stated that he intends to stay at Atalanta.
Atalanta's Prospects
Atalanta, which finished third in Serie A last season and qualified for the Champions League, has already lost its best goalscorer Mateo Retegui, who moved to Al-Qadsia. The loss of Lookman could force the club to urgently seek a replacement for the forward position.
Marotta also mentioned the designation of Cristian Chivu as the head coach of the team, noting that this was their first choice. Chivu aims to rebuild the team and enhance its competitiveness in the upcoming seasons.
