Sony has filed a lawsuit against Tencent, seeking to ban the release of Light of Motiram, which the company describes as a "blatant clone" of its Horizon series. The lawsuit claims that Tencent illegally copied design elements and characters from Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West, including post-apocalyptic environments and the visual style of the characters.

The development of Light of Motiram began in 2023, and Tencent initially sought to negotiate with Sony for licensing the intellectual property of Horizon. However, after being denied, the company announced the release of its game in the fall of 2024.

Sony asserts that Tencent's actions caused damage and confused consumers. In the lawsuit, it demands to ban the development or release of Light of Motiram, as well as compensation and the destruction of all materials related to the game.
