- Google aims to improve the accuracy of responses in the new search mode.
Google has begun implementing a new tool in the United Kingdom that utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) to generate search results. This new mode, called "AI Mode," allows users to ask complex questions, for which they will receive responses in a conversational style without a large number of links to other sites.
AI Mode will appear on the search results page and additionally in Google for Android and Apple. This feature has already been launched in the USA and India. It is intended to satisfy the growing demand for long and complex queries that have become popular among users.
Google notes that users are increasingly turning to AI chatbots, such as ChatGPT, for quick responses. This has prompted the company to adapt its service to remain competitive.
In the new search mode, queries are categorized into subtopics, and the system processes a series of queries from the same user. This allows for finding information that was previously difficult to access.
Google's Assistant President of Search Products, Hema Budaraju, stated that AI Mode helps in solving complex tasks, such as product recommendations or travel planning. However, despite the advantages, there are concerns about the impact of AI on the business model of new organizations, as reducing transitions to external links may negatively affect their income.
Google also emphasizes its commitment to sustainable development, especially regarding the resources required for utilizing AI.
