Donald Trump met with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer in Scotland, where they discussed important issues, including the situation in Gaza and the possibility of recognizing Palestine.
During the meeting, which took place at Trump's golf resort in Turnberry, the US President made it clear that the United States does not oppose the United Kingdom recognizing Palestine. This statement became an important step for Starmer, as pressure from the political side of his party is increasing.
Trump also expressed concern about the humanitarian situation in Gaza, noting that children there are suffering from starvation. He urged Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to take action regarding the situation and change tactics.
Starmer, who already supports the idea of Palestinian statehood, emphasized that without the participation of Hamas in the government, this issue cannot be resolved. Both leaders agreed that it is essential to achieve immediate humanitarian relief to alleviate the humanitarian crisis.
This meeting also touched on other issues, including commercial relations between the US and the UK, as well as the situation in Ukraine, where Trump expressed dissatisfaction with the actions of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
