In Denver, attorneys are ready to present final arguments in the case of dentist James Craig, who is accused of murdering his friend, Angela Craig. She died in 2023 during a third visit to the hospital over the course of two weeks. Investigations indicated that she died from poisoning with cyanide and tetrahydrozoline, which is found in over-the-counter eye drops.
James Craig is accused of murder and of attempting to fabricate evidence to make it appear that his friend was abusing substances. During the hearing, prosecutors asserted that Craig gave her a lethal dose of cyanide while she was in the hospital. It is known that he purchased the drops and added them to her protein cocktail for the friend.
Craig did not testify in court, and his attorneys did not present witnesses. They argued that Angela could have been abusing substances, blaming the police for focusing solely on James. The police found notes on Craig's phone where he mentioned the possibility of his friend being dependent on them.
Among the witnesses was Mark Pry, who confirmed that Angela had capsules with the indication of James. During the trial, a journal of Angela was also presented, in which she described problems in the relationship, but did not mention the intention to abuse substances.
Craig's attorney described Angela as "manipulative" through the lens of a person, but her sister prohibited this, asserting that in the sisterhood there was "manipulative love," but not "manipulative reason."
