LG Innotek Invests in Aeva for the Development of LiDAR Technology

On July 29, 2025, Aeva, a company specializing in sensing systems and perception, announced a strategic partnership with LG Innotek, a subsidiary of LG Group. Under the agreement, LG Innotek invests up to $50 million in Aeva, acquiring approximately 6% of the company’s shares, as well as funding the development of new products.
This partnership allows Aeva to accelerate the commercialization of its perception platform based on Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) technology, which can be applied in the automotive sector, industrial automation, robotics, and consumer devices.
Aeva proposes unique 4D LiDAR sensors, which can simultaneously capture speed and three-dimensional position, enhancing the safety of autonomous devices. Partners plan to jointly develop new solutions for various sectors, including for automotive transport, where LG Innotek will supply sensors for major automotive manufacturers.
In addition, Aeva and LG Innotek are focused on expanding the application of technology in the fields of robotics and consumer electronics. The partnership also anticipates discussing new capabilities at the Aeva Day event on July 31, where the leadership of both companies will present details of the collaboration.
