Club President Igor Surkis noted that Lucescu left his mark in the history not only of Dynamo but also of Ukrainian football as a whole. According to him, "Your many years of work in football is an example of dedication, professionalism, and true love for the game."

Coach Lucescu led Dynamo from 2020 to 2023, and previously coached Shakhtar for 12 seasons. During his time at Dynamo, he led the team to win the "golden double" in 2021.

Lucescu's son, Razvan, expressed thoughts on how his father influenced his career in football, emphasizing the significance of both clubs in their lives. According to Razvan, "Shakhtar and Dynamo are two extremely important parts of my father's life."
