The football club Chelsea is close to signing Jorrel Chatto from Ajax and is negotiating with RB Leipzig regarding the transfer of Xavi Simons.

According to the information, personal terms with Chatto, who is a defender, have already been agreed. He has played over 100 matches for the first team of Ajax, despite being only 19 years old. Negotiations regarding the sum are around €40 million (£35 million sterling) and are at the final stage. The transfer of Enzo Maresca is aimed at strengthening the options for the left-back and central defender positions.

Chatto became the youngest captain of Ajax in 2023 at the age of 17 and recently made his debut for the national team. He was also part of the youth national team of the Netherlands, which reached the semifinals of the European Championship in Slovakia.

Regarding Simons, a 22-year-old forward, he moved to RB Leipzig from PSV Eindhoven in January for €50 million and could cost up to €70 million. Chelsea is also exploring the possibility of signing other players, as sales are essential for new contracts.

Additionally, Joao Felix has signed a contract with Al-Nasr for a deal that could reach £43.7 million sterling. This allows Chelsea to expedite the signing of Simons, as new contracts depend on the sale of players.

Since the beginning of this summer, Chelsea has received £135.7 million sterling from sales and has net expenditures of £82.3 million sterling.
