Microsoft Edge introduces a new Copilot mode with enhanced AI features
- Copilot Mode provides access to all open tabs
- Users can search and browse information
- The mode is available free of charge in the beta version

Microsoft is launching a new experimental Copilot mode in the Edge browser. This mode integrates an AI assistant directly into the browser interface, allowing users to search for information, browse restaurants, and compare products.
Users can give Copilot access to all open tabs so that AI can compare hotels or suggest shopping options. A voice navigation feature has also been introduced for searching information and opening necessary pages.
Microsoft plans to expand the capabilities of the mode, granting Copilot access to browser history and saved data, for instance, for automatic restaurant table bookings or form filling.
Copilot mode is an addition to previously implemented features based on Copilot Vision. According to Microsoft Edge Vice President Shona Lindars, future Copilot will help structure user activity in the browser, such as specific topics for review.
Currently, the mode is available in the beta version and is accessible free of charge, but with limited availability. Microsoft emphasizes that in the future, the Copilot mode may be included in a paid subscription.
This new mode in Edge is optional — it can be enabled in the browser settings.
