ChatGPT Demonstrates the Ability to Bypass the "I Am Not a Robot" Check
- ChatGPT Agent successfully passes the Cloudflare CAPTCHA check.
- The AI can perform tasks on the Internet under user control.
- OpenAI has enhanced security and control over AI actions.
ChatGPT can now bypass online verification systems that typically confirm a user is human. The new tool, ChatGPT Agent, is capable of autonomously passing CAPTCHA checks, including the Cloudflare "I Am Not a Robot" system.
The latest version of the chatbot can perform various tasks, such as online shopping, restaurant reservations, and planning meetings. Users who tested the new ChatGPT noted that it easily bypasses security checks.
According to observations from a Reddit user, ChatGPT Agent successfully checked the "I Am Not a Robot" box without additional verification. The Cloudflare system analyzes users' behavioral signals, thus the successful completion of the test indicates that the agent's actions resemble human behavior.
OpenAI developed this function in an isolated environment with its own virtual operating system, ensuring access to the Internet. Users can monitor the AI's actions through the ChatGPT interface and control its operation. Before executing actions that may have real consequences, the system requires user consent.
OpenAI also recognized the risks associated with granting AI certain autonomy, and stated that they have strengthened oversight of agent actions and provided safeguards for handling sensitive information.
