Surprise for Wiegman at the Lioness Parade
The Lioness Parade, dedicated to their second consecutive victory in the Euro, gathered thousands of fans on the streets of London. This day will particularly be remembered for trainer Sarina Wiegman, who received an unexpected performance from her favorite artist Burna Boy.
English players arrived at the open-top bus on The Mall in central London, where fans filled both sides of the road. They came out onto the stage in front of Buckingham Palace to participate in the celebratory ceremony, which was led by former England captain Alex Scott.
Returning to the stage, Leah Williamson addressed the crowd, calling this event "one of the greatest moments in which we have participated." The microphone passed to Wiegman, who has already previously won the Euro.
The Dutch trainer, excited by Burna Boy's performance, exclaimed "Oh, my God!" when Scott announced that the Grammy-winning artist would perform. Burna Boy came out on stage, shocking Wiegman, and performed his song "For my hand," which became one of the most popular songs of the trainer in 2023.
Wiegman, who usually remains composed, let go of all restraint, dancing on stage with Burna Boy, while the players photographed this extraordinary pair. Not only Burna Boy was on stage; Hezeer Smoll also performed his song "Proud," which often played in the background of England's tournament journey.
