Google Launches New AI Mode in Search

  • Google is launching AI mode in Great Britain, changing the approach to search.
  • Users will be able to set complex queries and receive responses.
  • New features have been added, such as Canvas and support for PDF uploads.

This is reported by TechCrunch, Engadget.

Google is starting the implementation of a new artificial intelligence tool in Great Britain, which may change the traditional approach to search.

The new mode allows users to create complex or multi-part queries, to which the AI responds. This functionality, which will appear in the results tab of Google search and in the Google app for Android and iOS, enables users to receive answers to queries that consist of several parts.

The AI mode uses the new AI Gemini 2.5 model, which allows for formulating queries that previously required multiple searches. Google claims that the new mode helps users find information that was previously complex to obtain.

One of the new features is Canvas, which allows users to create learning plans and organize information in a sidebar. Users can upload files, such as notes or educational programs, to customize their learning materials.

In addition, Google integrates Project Astra capabilities in AI mode through Search Live, which allows for real-time dialogue with search using a visual context from the camera.

The Search Live functionality also supports queries based on images and PDF files, enabling users to ask detailed questions about documents and receive responses, including on uploaded materials.

Google plans to expand support for additional file types, including files from Google Drive, in the coming months.
