Everton sold the women's team to a parent company
- Everton sold the women's team to the parent company Roundhouse Capital Holdings.
- This step helps the club meet the financial requirements of the Premier League.
- The women's team will be able to attract new investments as an independent entity.
The club "Everton" has sold its women's team to the parent company Roundhouse Capital Holdings, which is owned by American businessman Dan Friedkin. This step is taken to improve compliance with financial regulations of the Premier League regarding revenue and sustainability (PSR).
Thanks to this agreement, the women's team will be able to operate as an independent entity and attract investments. At the same time, the men's team will receive financial benefits, as sales will be counted as revenue in the financial reports of the club.
According to PSR, clubs cannot exceed maximum losses of £105 million over a three-year period. "Everton" had previously already received a reduction in points for breaching these rules in the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons.
This is the third case in the Premier League where a women's team was sold to a parent company with the aim of resolving financial issues. Earlier, "Chelsea" sold its women's team to BlueCo, and "Aston Villa" to V Sports.
In the 2024-25 season, "Everton" finished eighth in the Women's Super League, reached the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, and advanced to the group stage of the league cup.
The transfer of ownership rights of the women's team is part of a strategy aimed at attracting new investments and improving the club's financial indicators. This opens up opportunities for attracting new sponsors and partners interested in supporting women's football.
