- The study mode in ChatGPT supports the development of critical thinking in students.
- Access to it will be available to users of both free and paid versions of ChatGPT.
- OpenAI plans to enhance the mode based on user feedback from users.
This is reported by TechCrunch, Ars Technica.
OpenAI has introduced a new study mode in ChatGPT, which is designed to support students in developing critical thinking. This mode allows users to receive additional assistance in learning by posing questions to verify their understanding of the material.
The study mode is accessible to users of ChatGPT Free, Plus, Pro, and Team, and will also be launched for ChatGPT Edu subscribers in the coming weeks. According to OpenAI, this tool is intended to help students not only receive answers but also deepen their understanding of complex topics.
In the new ChatGPT mode, users can not only receive information but also ask questions that allow students to independently arrive at the correct conclusions. For example, when asking about the theory of Igor, ChatGPT first assesses the user’s level of knowledge before providing a response.
This approach was developed in collaboration with educators and experts in the field of education to ensure the effectiveness of learning. OpenAI plans to improve the study mode based on user feedback, but currently, the tool may demonstrate some limitations in its performance.
In addition, OpenAI emphasizes that the study mode may help reduce the risks of using ChatGPT for cheating, as it encourages active student engagement in the learning process.
