Tajon Buchanan signed a contract with Real Madrid for five years following his transfer from Inter. The deal was finalized on July 29, 2025.

The 26-year-old player, who previously played for Real Madrid on loan since July 2025, appeared in 13 matches in La Liga and scored one goal. His first goal for the club was decisive in a match against the La Liga champion, Barcelona.

Buchanan joined Inter in January 2024 from Club Brugge for 7 million euros, but during his first season, he did not manage to secure a starting position. He only featured in 10 matches, mostly as a substitute, for a team that won the title in Serie A.

Buchanan is also an important player for the Canadian national team, for which he has played 51 matches, including all three games in the 2022 World Cup.

Real Madrid will begin their season in La Liga with a home match against Oviedo on September 15.
