On July 23, the company presented new advertising materials, where Sweeney poses in denim clothing with the caption: "Sidney Sweeney has wonderful jeans."

This ad sparked significant criticism online due to the association with terms that are used in the context of evangelicalism. Many users noted that the campaign does not take diversity into account, only amplifying negative feedback.

Just two days after the launch of the campaign, on July 25, American Eagle posted a vacancy for the position of social media assistant. The job description states that the candidate should have a creative approach to content and understand what appeals to young people.

The campaign also includes the release of "Sidney's Jeans," which is a limited series of jeans, created in collaboration with the actress. An important element is the tag on the back pocket, which symbolizes the fight against domestic violence, and all proceeds from sales will be donated to the organization Crisis Text Line, which provides free mental health support.

However, many users of the network noted that the important content of the campaign is not reflected in the advertisement. Both parties, American Eagle and Sidney Sweeney, have not yet responded to the criticism.
