Cleveland Browns plan improvements after the 2024 season
- Browns are looking forward to better results after season 3-14
- The team selected two new quarterbacks in the draft
- Issues with Jadakins are drawing criticism towards the club
In a recent meeting with journalists on July 29, 2025, Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam expressed hope for improved team results after the 2024 season, when the team only secured three wins in 17 games. Haslam noted that despite the lack of success with quarterback Deshaun Watson, he believes the team is moving in the right direction.
Haslam emphasized that quarterback Kevin Stefanski and general manager Andrew Berry are committed to ensuring that one of the new quarterbacks selected in the draft gets playing time in 2025. He stated that this is important for the overall evaluation of the team before the 2026 draft, when the Browns will have two picks in the first round.
In the 2025 draft, the Browns selected two quarterbacks: Dillon Gabriel in the third round and Shedeur Sanders in the fifth. Haslam clarified that the decision to select Sanders was made by Berry, not him personally. Meanwhile, the team has been dealing with issues related to the arrest of another round selection, Quincy Jadakins, for domestic violence, which has drawn additional criticism towards the organization.
Haslam also expressed optimism regarding the potential of Jadakins, despite his absence from training due to legal issues, and acknowledged that the team needs to improve communication and education regarding domestic violence issues. Additionally, he confirmed that the Browns plan to build a new stadium in Brook Park, and, according to him, construction will begin in early 2026.
