New Transfer: Newcastle Signed Aaron Ramsdale from Southampton
- Newcastle signed Aaron Ramsdale on loan.
- The goalkeeper joined after a transfer from James Trafford.
- Ramsdale has experience in the Premier League and was Arsenal's first-choice goalkeeper.
Newcastle United signed a deal with Southampton for the loan of goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale. This agreement includes the possibility of a purchase at the end of the season. Aaron received permission for medical examinations, which will take place in the middle of the week.
Ramsdale, a 27-year-old goalkeeper, joined Southampton from Arsenal last summer for 25 million pounds sterling. During this time, he played 32 matches and couldn't prevent the team from being relegated from the Premier League.
Newcastle previously attempted to sign James Trafford, but he returned to Manchester City from Burnley. Ramsdale is familiar with coach Edde Howe, as they worked together at Bournemouth.
Ramsdale has played five times for the England national team and participated in three major tournaments. He already faces competition from Nick Pope and other goalkeepers at Newcastle.
