On July 29, 2025, President Donald Trump stated that Jeffrey Epstein "invaded" Virginia Giuffre, one of his employees, from Mar-a-Lago. Trump made this statement during a press conference on board Air Force One, returning from Scotland. He noted that in 2004 he severed ties with Epstein due to the fact that he recruited his employees.
Trump asserts that when he asked Epstein not to recruit his employees, he still "invaded" Giuffre, who worked in the spa-salon of the club. Giuffre, who died in April 2025, confirmed that she was recruited by Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell for sexual services.
Earlier Trump stated that he distanced himself from Epstein due to his inappropriate behavior. However, his latest comments about Giuffre follow a timeline of events, considering that in 2002 he spoke positively about Epstein.
Maxwell, who is currently serving a 20-year sentence for the sexual exploitation of minors, has submitted evidence before Congress, but only under conditions that grant her immunity.
