At the beginning of the week, on July 30, the Ukrainian army reported that as a result of the Russian missile strike on the military training camp, at least three Ukrainian soldiers were killed, and 18 others were injured. The report indicates that the strike was carried out on the territory of one of the training units of the Southern Forces of Ukraine.
The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky also condemned the recent Russian attack on the evacuation, resulting in the deaths of 16 people. He emphasized that the strikes on civilian facilities are known and require international response to Moscow.
Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump announced a 10-day deadline for Russia to cease hostilities in order to avoid further sanctions against Ukraine, unless the U.S. imposes new sanctions. Trump noted that he has not received a response from President Putin to his demands.
The Kremlin reacted to these statements, stating that "the special military operation continues," just as former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev warned Trump about the unpredictability of threats.
Additionally, in Russia, journalist Olga Komleva was sentenced to 12 years in prison for collaborating with an organization associated with opposition politician Alexei Navalny.
Furthermore, the European Union is reducing aid to Ukraine due to unfulfilled reforms, while the Russian airline "AeroFlot" canceled a number of flights due to the situation.
