Trump announces new aid plan for Gaza amid border regulations
- Trump announced a new aid plan for Gaza.
- The majority of humanitarian shipments are being diverted to the border.
- The situation with the delivery of aid remains critical.
This is reported by ABC News, Asharq Al-Awsat.
U.S. President Donald Trump announced plans to introduce a new aid plan for Gaza. This statement came after the White House confirmed that the U.S. is aligning itself with European and Arab allies in providing humanitarian aid. Trump noted that these funds should be allocated appropriately, particularly for the distribution of food products.
The humanitarian situation in Gaza remains critical, with the number of deaths from hunger increasing. However, due to the limited aid delivery route, most shipments are being diverted to the border. Residents and officials report that groups of border guards are stealing humanitarian supplies, preventing aid from reaching those who need it most.
According to reports, even when humanitarian aid arrives, it often does not reach the intended recipients due to border guards who operate during bombardments. For example, recently five people died when Israeli forces surrounded a group that was protecting the aid shipments.
Trump also emphasized that the U.S. plans to create centers to ensure aid delivery, but details of this project have not yet been disclosed. Regardless of international alliances, the situation in Gaza remains complex, and Israeli actions complicate aid deliveries.
International organizations, such as the World Food Program, report delays in the delivery of supplies. They planned to send 80-100 shipments but managed to deliver only half of them. As a result, many people remain without food.
At the same time, sporadic border incidents have led to an increase in prices for basic products. For instance, a kilogram of sugar costs nearly $130, while a children's mixture reaches $69 per can. Residents claim that without oversight and corruption in aid distribution, it leads to widespread starvation among the population.
