- Luis Diaz signed a contract with Bavaria for four years.
- The transfer came as a result of the player's desire to leave Liverpool.
- Bavaria hopes that Diaz will become a key player in their attack.
Bavaria Munich confirmed the signing of winger Luis Diaz from Liverpool for £65.5 million.
The 28-year-old Colombian footballer signed a four-year contract, which concludes his three-year stint at Liverpool. Previously, Diaz was absent from the squad during the match against AC Milan due to concerns about his future transfer.
Liverpool declined an initial proposal from Bavaria at £58.6 million, but agreed to the improved offer of £65.5 million. Diaz received permission to undergo medical examinations with the new club.
Earlier this summer, Diaz expressed a desire to remain at Liverpool, where his contract was set to expire in June 2027. After a serious injury that forced him to miss six months, he was unable to return to his previous form, which also influenced his decision regarding the transfer.
Bavaria presented Diaz to their squad in response to the absence of other targets in the transfer market. This became a decisive step, as Diaz is set to receive a significant salary in the new team, which will amount to €14 million per year.
