On July 30, 2025, TikTok announced new features, including enhanced parental controls, tools for content creators, and a new interactive tool for supporting user well-being. Users can also register for a new content verification system called Footnotes.
Among the new features, TikTok updated the Family Pairing function, which allows parents to link their accounts with their children's accounts for setting safety parameters. Now, parents can block specific accounts for their children, which prevents the child from interacting with that account and seeing its content in the feed.
Parents will also receive automatic notifications if their child encounters inappropriate content, whether it be a video, story, or photo, which allows them to monitor content without interfering in the creative process. Additionally, parents can view the confidence settings chosen by their child, for example, whether they are allowed to upload content.
For content creators, TikTok is launching a Creator Care Mode, which automatically filters out inappropriate images and comments. There will also be a new tool for comments in TikTok Live, which allows blocking certain words.
Creators can register for a new professional inbox, which includes "Unread" and "Starred" folders for better management of notifications. They can set quick replies to queries and create a chat room where they can interact with up to 300 subscribers.
The Content Check Lite feature allows creators to check their videos for compliance with the criteria for appearing in the "For You" feed. This feature helps reduce the number of "low-quality" uploads and increase trust among content creators.
Additionally, TikTok is launching a well-being initiative that includes short tests and interactive cards to help users develop balanced digital habits.
