Ukraine is actively working on new models of drones and is preparing a large-scale agreement with the USA. This was announced by the head of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk in an interview.
According to Stefanchuk, Ukraine's achievements in drone technologies and drone production have become a benchmark for many countries. This autumn, Ukraine's defense sector will present new projects that receive funding from international partners.
Stefanchuk also emphasized that Ukraine is preparing a "significant agreement" with the United States. Within the framework of this agreement, the USA will supply Ukrainian drones, and Ukraine, in turn, will receive modern American weapons.
"This is absolutely a new chapter, where we will begin to act as a supplier of defense products for the whole world. We have unique experience, technologies, and defense products that we can offer to our partners," Stefanchuk emphasized.
At the same time, the Ukrainian government has allowed drone manufacturers and electronic warfare to include up to 10% of expenses for loans in the value of state contracts. This decision aims to reduce the financial burden on the industry and stimulate the development of Ukrainian manufacturing of weapons.
Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko and Minister of Defense Denys Shmyhal noted that the new financial mechanism will allow Ukrainian manufacturers to produce weapons and technologies faster and more effectively. Shmyhal also reported that a meeting was held with Ukrainian banks to improve the financing of the defense industry.
In preparation for the agreement with the USA, Ukraine has already signed several contracts for the supply of interceptors, the total value of which exceeds 3 billion hryvnias.
