A Russian spy was detained in the Ukrainian Air Force

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) identified and detained a Russian spy in the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This instructor-pilot, a major from one of the aviation brigades, was preparing strikes against Russian forces at airfields where F-16 and Mirage 2000 aircraft are based.

The operation was conducted with the support of the Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi. The detained individual collected information for planning attacks on Ukrainian military facilities, including coordinating the deployment of aircraft and the distribution of their pilots.

The SBU secured his criminal activity and detained him during an attempt to gather new data for the enemy. He may face charges of state treason during wartime, which carries a life sentence.
