Parents Filed a Lawsuit Against Delta Over Stolen Child's iPad

  • Parents of the child filed a lawsuit against Delta over a stolen iPad.
  • Video content surfaced in a family recording.
  • Delta claims that the perpetrator is not one of their employees.

A couple from South Carolina filed a federal lawsuit against Delta Air Lines, asserting that an airline employee used an iPad left on board the plane to record pornographic videos. The lawsuit was filed on July 16, 2023, in U.S. District Court in Charleston.

Torri and Brooke Bruer discovered inappropriate content that was stored in their iCloud account after their child left a Peppa Pig tablet on the plane. They filed a report about the incident on July 20, 2023, but did not receive any response from the airline by September 27, when pornographic videos appeared in their iCloud account.

The videos, according to the plaintiffs, showed a man in a Delta uniform, who was recording, while his name was visible on the badge. The family's attorney, Tola Familoni, noted that this situation caused significant distress in their family and was a violation of privacy.

In response to the lawsuit, Delta stated that the individual who recorded the iPad is not an employee of the company, but belongs to a subsidiary organization, the name of which has not been disclosed. The airline emphasized that it has a zero-tolerance policy for illegal actions, but declined to comment on the matter.

The family stated that they wish to hold Delta accountable for its inadequate response to their concerns.
