On July 30, 2025, Liverpool continued its preparations for the season, securing a 3-1 victory over Yokohama F. Marinos in a friendly match at Nissans Stadium.

The game started with a score of 0-0, but at the beginning of the second half, the Japanese team took the lead with a goal from Asa Uenaki (46'). Liverpool quickly responded when Florian Wirtz, a newcomer from Bayer, equalized in the 55th minute. After that, Trevor Noyni (62') and Rio Ngumokha (87') scored two more goals, securing the victory for the team.

The French forward Hugo Ekitike made his debut for Liverpool, appearing on the field in the second half, but did not manage to score a goal.

Liverpool's next match will be against Atlético (Spain) on August 4 at the "Anfield" stadium.
