- Shannon Sharpe will no longer work at ESPN after the conclusion of a legal dispute.
- The lawsuit for a total of 50 million dollars was filed by his former girlfriend.
- Sharpe denied the allegations and claimed that the relationships were consensual.
ESPN announced the termination of its partnership with Shannon Sharpe, a former NFL player and media analyst, less than two weeks after he signed an agreement regarding the lawsuit filed by his former girlfriend. Sharpe has not appeared on ESPN since the end of April when the lawsuit was filed.
Sharpe denied all allegations and, when the lawsuit was filed, stated that he plans to return to ESPN at the beginning of the traditional NFL training camp. However, as it became known, the network decided not to reinstate him to work.
The lawsuit for a total of 50 million dollars was filed at the beginning of this month, according to reports from the attorney for the plaintiff. Sharpe claimed that the relationships in question were entirely consensual.
ESPN confirmed that it supports Sharpe's decision for a temporary withdrawal from work, noting that this is a serious situation.
