Emma Raducanu continued her successful form, defeating Peyton Stearns in the third round of the National Bank Open in Montreal. She won the match in two sets, with a score of 6-2 6-4, securing her place in the next stage of the tournament.

Raducanu, who competed in the tournament after an impressive semifinal run at the Citi Open, controlled the game, achieving several breaks in each set. She won the first set, breaking serve in the eighth game, but faced difficulties in the second set, allowing her opponent to level the score.

However, the Brit managed to break back, leveling the score at 4-4, and finished the match with another break, allowing her to advance further. Raducanu noted that she was aware of the complexity of her opponent, as they had previously faced each other.

"I’m really happy to have managed to win this match. I lost concentration at certain moments, but I maintained my focus and continued to play," she said after the match, adding that the support from the fans was important for her.

In the next round, Raducanu will face American Ann Li or New Zealand tennis player Lulu Sun.
