Trade Agreement Returns Euhenio Suarez to Mariners
- The Seattle Mariners have acquired Euhenio Suarez in a trade for young players.
- Suarez has 36 home runs this season and leads the league in home runs.
- Diamondbacks connected with the declining results and outlined the strategy for trading players.
Euhenio Suarez, the third baseman, returns to Seattle Mariners after the agreement with Arizona Diamondbacks, which was announced in the middle of the evening. Suarez spent two seasons with the Mariners, where he hit 53 home runs.
This season, the 34-year-old player has 36 home runs and shares the lead in the league for the number of home runs (87) with Calom Ralli, who is also one of the strongest players in the team. The Mariners are currently fighting for a spot in the playoffs.
The agreement became possible due to the declining results of the Diamondbacks, who have the lowest record this season, having lost in the last nine games. Arizona received from Mariners Tyler Locklear and two young pitchers in exchange for Suarez.
This agreement is one of the largest since Jerry Dipoto took the position of president of baseball operations in Seattle. Suarez, whose contract is expiring, has a chance to become a free agent after this season.
