Flanker Abi Burton will make her first appearance on the field in the starting lineup of the England team during the warm-up match for the women's World Cup against Spain. The 25-year-old athlete returned to professional sports after a long illness, including after having spent more than three weeks in intensive care in 2022 due to an autoimmune disease.

This match will be the first of two that the team will play before the start of the main tournament. They will also compete against France next week. The meeting with Spain will take place in Leicester, where the England team, which occupies 1st place in the world rankings, will face a team that ranks 13th.

Abi Burton, who previously played on the field in the matches of the Six Nations, will play in the position of flanker. The team has named ten changes in the lineup after the victory over France in the spring.
