Uber Eats Introduces New Features for Communication with Clients

  • Uber Eats launches a live chat feature for restaurants.
  • Clients can upload photos of their orders.
  • AI improves menus and reviews on the platform.

This is reported by TechCrunch, The Verge.

On July 31, 2025, Uber Eats announced the introduction of new features that allow restaurants to communicate with clients in real-time. This includes the ability to exchange messages for confirming substitutions of perishable items, clarifying special requests, and verifying dietary requirements.

The "Live Order Chat" feature allows businesses to contact clients up to the moment of handing over the order to the courier or client. However, clients cannot initiate the chat, but can only respond to messages from sellers.

In addition, Uber Eats is introducing new AI tools to enhance the menu. Among the new features is automatic generation of dish descriptions, aggregation of clients' reviews, and improvement of image quality of the dishes. This allows restaurants to better present their offerings and provide information on food quality.

Users can also upload photos of their orders, which allows them to receive $3 in credit for the add-on if their images are published. The feature is available for clients in the USA, Canada, Mexico, and the UK.
