Iran Demands Compensation for Resuming Nuclear Talks

Iran has outlined new demands for the resumption of nuclear negotiations with the US. The Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abbas Araghchi, stated that Washington must compensate for the losses caused by American military strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities. He emphasized that the US should clarify why it attacked Iran during the negotiations and guarantee that this will not happen again in the future.

Araghchi also mentioned that during and after the 12-day war, he was in contact with special representatives of US President Steve Vitekoff. He stressed that to resolve the ongoing conflict, it is essential to find a solution that would be beneficial for both sides.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs added that the path to negotiations is narrow but not impossible. He highlighted the importance of genuine intentions from the US side to achieve a mutually beneficial agreement, which would include financial compensation. Vitekoff noted the readiness of the Iranian diplomat for Washington to resolve such an agreement and suggested resuming negotiations.

US Strikes on Iran

In mid-June, American forces participated in an operation with Israel against Iranian nuclear facilities. The US attacked three nuclear sites in Iran: Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, using specialized bombs to destroy the facilities, as the Iranian nuclear installations were deeply buried underground.

US President Donald Trump stated that after the attack, Iran's nuclear program was destroyed. Meanwhile, in the ZMI, there were reports that Iran is increasing the evacuation of enriched uranium, essential for the creation of nuclear weapons.
