Kendri Paez has joined Strasbourg on loan

Kendri Paez, a young forward, has joined the French club Strasbourg on loan for one season. Earlier, he played for Chelsea, where he transferred in the summer of 2023 from the Ecuadorian club Independiente del Valle after reaching the age of 18.

During his career at Independiente del Valle, Paez scored 13 goals in 70 matches. He also played 18 matches for the Ecuador national team. Strasbourg officially confirmed his transfer on July 31, 2025.

This is not the first incident when players from Chelsea join Strasbourg. Besides Paez, the club has already welcomed goalkeeper Mike Penderas on loan. The transfer was also signed under permanent agreements with Ishe Samuels-Smith and Matias Amogu. In the previous season, Strasbourg finished in seventh place in Ligue 1, which allowed them to qualify for the Conference League.

FIFA football rules only allow three players to switch clubs in one season, who have similar contracts. In addition, negotiations are underway regarding the loan of Mamadou Sarra, who previously played in Strasbourg.
