Tottenham Hotspur has started negotiations with Bayern Munich regarding the potential transfer of Portuguese midfielder Joao Palhinha. Palhinha joined Bayern from Fulham last summer for a fee of £47.4 million, but his debut season in Germany has been challenging due to injuries.

The 30-year-old midfielder has struggled with injuries and has played only six matches in the Bundesliga, which has opened up the possibility for a temporary return to London. Tottenham has many options in midfield, but this season they will need to compete in several tournaments after qualifying for the Champions League, which guarantees them participation in the League.

Palhinha, who previously shone while playing for Fulham, where he made 79 appearances and scored a total of eight goals, could become the fourth new signing for Tottenham this summer. The club has already signed Mohammed Kudus from West Ham at the beginning of July and other players.

Negotiations with Bayern could also indicate that Tottenham is looking for experienced players, especially since their potential midfielders, such as Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma, have uncertain futures.
