Google Pixel 10 Receives Magnetic Qi2 Wireless Charging

  • Pixel 10 receives magnetic Qi2 wireless charging.
  • The magnets are built into the smartphone itself, enhancing convenience.
  • The update also applies to Pixel Watch 4 and Pixel Buds 2A.

This is reported by Mezha, ZDNet.

According to leaks, Google Pixel 10 will support magnetic Qi2 wireless charging. This is the first full integration of Qi2 with built-in magnets in Pixel smartphones, analogous to Apple’s MagSafe functionality.

The leaked images of the base model Pixel 10 show a bright blue color and a wireless charger, attached seamlessly to the body. This indicates that the magnets are built into the smartphone itself, rather than just in a case, as is realized in Samsung’s flagships.

The charger is likely part of the PixelSnap accessories, which were previously announced in leaks. Qi2 is a new standard for wireless charging with magnetic alignment, developed jointly with Apple. Currently, it is officially supported by only one Android smartphone—HMD Skyline. Pixel 10 is expected to be the first mass-market Android device to fully support Qi2 without the need for a special case.

Images of Pixel Watch 4 and Pixel Buds 2A have also appeared, confirming rumors about the update of the Pixel lineup this fall.
