Lukash Paketa, the midfielder of West Ham, was banned for misconduct during the fixture following the investigation by the independent commission. The FA's investigation began in September 2023, and Paketa was banned in early 2024 for receiving four yellow cards in four Premier League matches. These matches included encounters with Leicester City, Aston Villa, Leeds United, and Bournemouth.
The commission found that the most serious misconduct was not substantiated, but noted corresponding sanctions for two other violations. Paketa stated that he always reported all misconduct and expressed gratitude to everyone who supported him during the investigation.
West Ham confirmed that the club supported Paketa throughout the entire process and expressed satisfaction with the outcome. Paketa, who joined West Ham in September 2022, has become an important player for the team, leading them to their promotion in the UEFA Conference League in 2023.
