- Lucas Paquetá has been cleared in the matter of betting after an investigation.
- West Ham player Vest Hema was suspended for 33 matches in the previous season.
- Paquetá hopes to return to play with a smile on his face.
Lucas Paquetá, a player for West Ham, was cleared in the matter of breaking betting rules, which were in effect from January 2024. An independent regulatory commission found that the allegations against him were not substantiated. However, Paquetá admitted that he did not respond to inquiries regarding the investigation.
The allegations stemmed from the fact that he allegedly attempted to receive a yellow card during several matches to influence the betting. These allegations arose after he was supposed to transition to Manchester City in 2023, but the investigation halted those proceedings.
Paquetá, who signed a contract with West Ham in September 2022, has become an important player for the team, regardless of the allegations. In his debut season in the Premier League, he scored five goals and provided seven assists, and in the 2023-24 season, his results improved to eight goals and seven assists.
Lucas Paquetá expressed gratitude to his club and teammates, noting that he is eagerly awaiting a return to the field. He hopes to now focus on his career, which has great prospects.
